Ashlee Stroope Creed - Staff Trainer - colt starting.

Colt Starting is Ashlee's specialty. Her training program includes groundwork and manners, round pen, arena work & obstacles. If old enough they go under saddle. She follows the Clinton Anderson Program. They leave with manners, a good mind and a soft mouth.

 If you are having trouble with trailer loading, desensitizing, water, bathing or clipping, no problem, all these are included in our daily routine.  You will have several riding or handling lessons with your colt before he/she goes home with you so you are up to date with our techniques.


Training is $400 plus $700 board/month ($1100)

Intermediate and advanced training will depend on the level and specific goals.

Children 6+ through Adults.


We teach a Horsemanship Program and not just riding. It covers all the basics from Feed & Nutrition, Safety, Barn & Horse Care, Riding, and much more.  You will learn a new vocabulary plus parts of the horse, saddle and bridle, etc. We will teach you on your horse or one of ours.  More advanced training will take you beyond your current knowledge and riding level. 


During lessons:

  • ​Lessons are 1 hour long & scheduled.
  • You must wear long pants, boots or hard-soled shoes with a heel.  No tennis shoes or flip-flops.
  • Children (under 18) must ride with an equine riding helmet.  Adults may choose.  If a beginner rider (any age) we require using one.  We have them on hand to furnish if you don't have your own. 
  • Long hair must be pulled back for safety.
  • Sessions are 4 weeks long.  Full payment is due upfront and will cover all 4 weeks.
  • If you must change a lesson we require 24-hour notice so sessions can be properly moved and someone else can take your spot.
  • Under 12 years old we require an adult to stay on-premises.
  • We are here to have fun but reserve the right to excuse any child/adult from class that is unsafe, unruly, disruptive, or abusive.
